this past sunday, while telling a story about Jesus, a girl pipes up and says: “i’ve never heard this story before…in fact i’ve never even [been] to a church before.”

it is the eve of the ‘public launch’ of theStory. we’ve downplayed this moment, choosing rather to ease into this new chapter rather than fill it with forced fanfare and hollow hype. good move? we’ll see at some point i suppose…

This past week at theStory we combined some borrowed and homemade ideas and designed a gathering that took the participants on a ride through the scriptures – ten readings, ten responses – following the story of Jesus through the Old Testament leading up to his arrival on planet earth as recorded in the New Testament.
