lots on the go in my head, and in one way or another it’s all connected…
office hi jinks

some quick observations…
…lots of college students (the community college is within walking distance)
…they have booths here. nice. lots of room to sprawl books, laptop and other necessities
…not as communal as the other location where […]

The post-menopausal lady in black approaches the side counter for the second time in less than ten minutes. Moments ago on the first trip her body language revealed she was timid and unsure of the question she was about to ask. The second attempt, however, suggested an air of confidence and entitlement to what she […]

The elderly gentleman in the candy red motorized wheel chair maneuvers his electronic vehicle perfectly, easing up to the table where his six friends await. Greeted by hugs, pats on the shoulder, squeezes to the lats and a stale joke - they’re glad he’s arrived. He talks with his hands to better explain his point. […]

Red goatee, shaved head, white hoodie with the sleeves bunched up past his elbows. His friend with aged eyes and dated cell phone* is in conversation with someone else. Truly alone, he finishes his drink while she chats. Fifteen minutes go by, he begins fiddling with his phone. Is this the way he imagined how […]

I’ve be ousted from my regular spot at my second office, but it appears to be for good reason. The woman in leather pants, with mini-Gucci bag in tote is holding back tears. The lid is off her extra-large coffee, and from the sounds of it, her life as well. Her friend leans closer and […]

Back at the office…
…a young woman shares an afternoon with her grandfather. I wonder who bought? Savour the moment, miss.
This afternoon I’m sharing my time with these thoughts…
…Leonard Sweet explained an illustration once along these lines: Leaders can get so far ahead of their followers that they’re sometimes mistaken for the enemy.
BUT
Just two […]
