Pull up a Chair
The elderly gentleman in the candy red motorized wheel chair maneuvers his electronic vehicle perfectly, easing up to the table where his six friends await. Greeted by hugs, pats on the shoulder, squeezes to the lats and a stale joke - they’re glad he’s arrived. He talks with his hands to better explain his point. Attentive, they are. Big smiles all ‘round.
There’s a new guy in the back corner reading a book. I’ve never seen him before. I wonder if he’ll be back.
Across the way, the red head wearing an orange sweater eats only the top of what appears to be a carrot muffin.
